San Juan pianist at Community Center

Pianist Grisha Krivchenia, from San Juan Island, will perform at 7 p.m., at the Lopez Center for Community and the Arts on Saturday, April 6.

Pianist Grisha Krivchenia, from San Juan Island, will perform at 7 p.m., at the Lopez Center for Community and the Arts on Saturday, April 6.

Grisha is a professional composer and seasoned performer who plays throughout the Northwest. His works have been performed by the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Arraymusic (Toronto), the Blue Rose Trio (Los Angeles), and other professional ensembles.

Grisha completed his studies at Oberlin Conservatory. In 2007, he moved to Friday Harbor to inaugurate the music program at Spring Street International School. He is passionate about making great works of music accessible to diverse audiences. Grisha will play original compositions and works by renowned classical composers: Beethoven, Chopin, and Philip Glass. The program includes the three movements of Beethoven’s celebrated Moonlight Sonata, Op. 27 no. 2.
