Pod Nods at The Whale Museum are underway!

Friday Harbor, WA – The Whale Museum’s second Pod Nod of the season takes place Friday July 3. With the theme “All About Orcas”, young ocean lovers, ages 6 to 10, will learn about 3 different types of orcas. They will also discover how to value the marine environment through art projects, science labs, music, games, and the popular flashlight tour of the Exhibit Hall. This popular “pajama party” sleepover will be led by an experienced Museum Educator with assistance from other adult professionals and students.

Dates for future Pod Nods are July 11, 18, 25, and 31. Each date will have a focus on a different theme, including “Native Myths and Legends” and “Conservation”, among others. Each Pod Nod will begin at 6:30 p.m., with pick-up the next morning at 8:30 a.m. A bedtime snack and light breakfast are included.

The cost for each Pod Nod is $39 for children/grandchildren of Whale Museum members. The cost for non-members is $49 per Pod Nod. A limited number of scholarships are available. Glow-in-the-dark orca t-shirts are available at a discounted cost of $12 for your Pod Nodder to wear during the flashlight tour! For more information or to register a child in a Pod Nod, please call The Whale Museum at (360) 378-4710 extension 23 or email cindy@whalemuseum.org. Pre-registration is required to ensure a great experience for the Pod Nodders as well as a high adult to child ratio.
