The Lopez Island Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the theme for this year’s Fourth of July parade: “Only on Lopez!” A celebration of the quirky, creative and uniquely Lopezian spirit that makes our island so special, we can’t wait to see how our community brings this playful theme to life!
We invite all individuals, families, organizations and groups to take part — whether you’re riding a float, walking with friends or rolling through in costume – the more, the merrier! And yes, we’ll have plenty of prizes, including the ever-popular award for Best Judges’ Bribe!
We’re thrilled to announce this year’s grand marshals: Christa Campbell and Paul Henriksen. Their decades of heartfelt dedication to our island, through environmental advocacy and community service, have helped shape Lopez into the place we love. Campbell and Henriksen are a dynamic duo who represent the best of “Only on Lopez,” and we’re honored to recognize them.
The parade route remains the same: starting on Fisherman Bay Road just south of The Lopez Islander Resort and Marina, winding through the Village, and ending at the pharmacy on Lopez Road. Parade registration is free and begins at 9 a.m. on July 4, with the parade kicking off promptly at 11 a.m.
So polish those floats, prep your costumes and start dreaming up your best “Only on Lopez” interpretations. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
