The newly formed San Juan County Arts Council is inviting input from artists of any discipline and anyone else with an interest.

There will be a discussion about what the public would like to see from the Arts Council and some information on the formation of the council. The meetings will be:

Feb. 5 , Lopez: 4:45 – 5:30 p.m. in Lopez library. Orcas: Noon – 2 p.m., Orcas Center.

For the last year or so a small volunteer committee has been meeting to discuss the advantages of Arts Council for San Juan County.

The organization began as part of the San Juan Community Foundation’s Critical Needs Task Force and their conclusions led to the formation of this council.

They state their vision as, “Where arts flourish, community prospers and lives are enriched.”
