Literary Salon: 7:00 p.m. San Juan Island Library, free. Drop in to visit with a group of folks who love books, but don’t want to join a book club. We meet in front of the fireplace on each third Thursday of the month to discuss books we have been reading. It’s a great way to get ideas for what to read next, or to rave about a favorite. Teen Book Club reads New Moon: The teen book club meets with refreshments to watch the movie version after reading the book. This month we read New Moon by Stephanie Meyer. For a special treat, we’ll go to the theater and see the movie when it plays at the Palace. Pick up a free copy to keep and sign up in the Library.

at 6 p.m. Archana Bennur, Karnatak Classical Vocalist: Archana Bennur has been featured in on All India Radio, and was born into a family of traditional classical musicians, where the heritage of authentic classical music has been passed from generation to generation. She has performed all over the world and is currently residing in Redmond, Washington and performing in the Seattle area. The Foundation Center’s Proposal Writing Basics: Noon to 1:30 p.m. San Juan Island Library. This free online training will be on the new large screen TV in the meeting room. You will learn the basics of writing a proposal for your nonprofit organization, presented by the Foundation Center. Liz Illg from Nonprofits Unlimited will lead a participatory follow-up discussion.
