Submitted by the Lopez Island Education Foundation.
The Lopez Island Education Foundation recently approved an allocation of $40,000 to the Lopez Island School District.
Combined with the $140,000 that LIEF provided in September, LIEF has now contributed $180,000 to the school district. LIEF, in partnership with the superintendent and school leadership, has committed to raising $300,000 to cover critical programs and general operating costs for the 2025-2026 school year.
LIEF thanks each and every donor and asks community members to keep up the momentum on this fundraising drive. LIEF will continue to update the community on progress toward its goal via the LIEF donation thermometer in Lopez Village and on social media. Reaching the $300,000 goal will help keep the lights on, pay salaries and maintain current staffing levels, and ensure that Lopez Island’s children continue to learn and thrive.
Community members can find out more about LIEF’s fundraising efforts and how to give on the foundation’s website: https://www.lopezeducation.org/donate.
