Lopez Center for Community and the Arts is proud to present two award winning, international artists in a duo-piano concert featuring the Rabel Chickering Piano and the Henderson Memorial Piano. The Lopez audience will remember Judith Cohen’s brilliant concert for the Gala dedication of the Steinway Grand Piano. She returns with her recording partner, Jill Timmons, to present “A delightful recital from a highly expressive and virtuosic pair of pianists,” Peter Burwasser, of Fanfare Magazine, said.

The Center has been gifted with two fine pianos during the ten years since the facility was opened. First, William and Wendy Rabel gave their family’s Chickering Grand Piano and in 2007 LCCA received The Henderson Memorial Piano from the Lucille Henderson Estate. This 1911 Steinway grand piano was completely renovated through generous donations from many people. The Rabel Piano has served the Center very well through the years and is still the piano of choice for many concerts. With the addition of the Steinway the Center is able to offer a choice of instruments to visiting artists. It has been used by concert pianists and some jazz musicians. The Center is fortunate to have both of these exceptional pianos.

Lopez Center for Community and the Arts presents this special concert featuring both pianos as part of the 10th anniversary celebration, on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
