As part of their BizLabs workshop series, and in partnership with San Juan County WSU Extension, the Economic Development Council invites farm owners and producers interested in expanding their businesses into retail to a workshop titled “From Farmers Market to Grocery Retail” led by Mike Darrow, certified business advisor, Washington SBDC, Development Center on Monday, Sept. 29, from 1-2 p.m. held entirely on Zoom.
In this informative one-hour workshop, attendees will learn everything they need to know about transitioning into grocery and retail sales. The course will cover grocery terminology, distribution, promotional costs, slotting fees, production capacity, compliant manufacturing facilities, payment terms and much more.
Darrow brings over 35 years of expertise in consumer product goods in both durable and consumable products (branded food products) on a domestic and international level. He worked as a small business owner in the specialty foods sector for 10 years, along with management roles in a Fortune 200 food company.
