Moving Toward Spring

We were very lucky this year to have the El Niño effect bringing us a mild winter, and we are also fortunate to be able to watch the Winter Olympics live from next door. This may not seem like a big deal, but to me it is, having lived in the other extreme of very limited choices and being in a state of always uninformed until the last minute for over half a decade. We are very lucky indeed.

With so many things to add to distractions that come through the airwaves and spur us to be ever prepared and ever preventive, we must remember to live. We must remember that things just happen, they always have and always will and we can never be prepared for everything.

The community spirit here is strong, and while there are many who don’t like the rules, who want to have the world adapt to them and who want to do nothing but complain, let them. Let them have a mirror and complain to it all they want. These are tough times, we got here through no fault of our own, but we are in the fallout. There are ways around things and ways to care for and enhance our lives and community if we can think outside the box, and that takes trust. Trust is not easy to come by, and this week with Mercury (thinking, communicating, commerce and travel) moving into a conjunction with giant Neptune (illusions, imagination, spirituality) in the innovative yet unpredictable sign of Aquarius, we can expect something to come to us that will have us thinking and talking. But we must remember that doing is also important, or else it’s all just useless noise.

The Full Moon at month’s end will occur in the sign of Virgo, and it will illuminate what needs to be enhanced and nurtured.

Aries (March 21- April 19): You may find it difficult to gather energy this week; almost all of the planets are in water or air signs and there isn’t a whole lot of elemental support for your sign of fire. Don’t worry about it, though. This week gives you a chance to pull back and mellow out, and the next Full Moon on Saturday will illuminate your sector of work and health. At midweek the Moon travels through your sector of Home, so this would be a good time to invite folks over for some goodies.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): With Pluto being the only planet occupying an earth sign now, you feel like you’re walking on quicksand. Air and water dominate the influences now, so your intellectual and emotional sides are getting exercise now. Since you don’t like to move forward in any hurry, you may be pondering something important. For now, it’s good for you to research and put things together in your head because with the high amount of uncertainty about you don’t want to plant your dainty hoof in the wrong place! The Full Moon in your sector of creative expression will ignite you on the weekend so use it well.

Gemini (May 21- June 20): You are all over the place and nowhere to land, Twin! There is so much activity in your sectors of Career and Expansion/Travel but no way to really ground that energy; you probably feel like a balloon ready to burst. Practice whatever grounding techniques you can and stay in the here and now. Make a list of your priorities and put it where you can see it. You need all the focusing tools you can muster now to keep your mind from going off in a hundred directions and your energy may be very low due to mental strain of trying to resist resistance.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Pluto and Saturn continue to strongly affect your relationship sector, and ultimately Pluto will win since it governs the unconscious and underlying motives that may or may not be within our scope of awareness. You may be reactive now due to pressures, real or imagined, that contribute to your fears. Try to get a realistic grip on those things this week so that when the glorious Full Moon in your sector of thinking/communication arrives on the weekend you can distinguish between what is real and what you invent.

Leo (July 23 – August 22): You may feel that you are manufacturing a lot of steam with no engine to drive; the planets are mostly in water or air signs now with a heavy emphasis in your relationship and intimacy sectors. Communicative Mercury will join up with illusive Neptune later this week, and someone may tell you what they think you want to hear but you are not likely to buy into it. Lock onto a priority and work it, maintain your focus and don’t overload yourself because Life is already doing that. The Full Moon this weekend will illuminate your financial sector, so look for good news!

Virgo (August 23 – September 21): Your sectors of work/health and relationship are still heavily influenced, and this week your Ruler Mercury conjoins elusive Neptune in your sector of work/health. This could precipitate a miscommunication regarding either issue, so be sure understanding is established and make no assumptions. Your time to shine is at the weekend when the glorious Full Moon in your own sign is all yours, so make plans for a bonfire and a little celebration just because.

Libra (September 22 – October 23): You have plenty of inspiration now, but in a quirky way due to Mercury (thinking) and Neptune (illusions, dreams) coming together in your sector of career. Something that looks like the right style and fit may be within your reach, and although it may not turn out to be what it looks like, you can maneuver it into your own style. The Full Moon in your sector of Endings this weekend encourages you to let go, and know what you can and can’t control.

Scorpio (October 24- November 22): Lots of action in several directions for you now! You are able to lessen the intensity and bask in the still waters with both Venus and Jupiter occupying your sector of creative expression/children, you are probably feeling pretty proud of your children and your role in their lives. Your Home sector is still very active, and this weekend the Full Moon in your sector of goals/friends will light up a glittering path to something new.

Sagittarius (November 23 – December 20): Your Ruler Jupiter and Venus both occupying your sector of Home bring stability and peace, still cleaning up the havoc Uranus brought through in recent years. Mercury and Neptune in your sector of thinking/communicating encourage you to update, upgrade and embrace innovation, incorporating it into your current methodology. This weekend, the Full Moon in your sector of career will bring good news your way if you’re considering changing careers or starting a new one.

Capricorn (December 21 – January 20): Not a lot of grounding energy available for you, but your breadth and depth is in good shape for lateral movement. Your financial sector is highlighted this week with communicative Mercury conjoining imaginative Neptune; if you are about to tweak your portfolio, be careful because all is not what it seems. If you purchase new electronics, you may be disappointed so don’t make any major purchases until next week. The Full Moon this weekend in your sector of expansion will give you what you need to know to move ahead well informed.

Aquarius (January 21 – February 20): With communicative Mercury moving up to conjoin illusive Neptune this week in your sign, you may obtain a flash of inspiration or learn something rather life altering this week. This will probably have to do with a way to gain more income or recover losses, since powerful Venus and lucky Jupiter are both in your sector of money. Introspection, breathing space to let the ideas come and manifest and a Full Moon on the weekend illuminating your sector of shared assets makes a winning combination now.

Pisces (February 21 – March 20): Mercury the Thinker/Communicator joins up with imaginative Neptune in your sector of Endings/New Beginnings this week. Since this sector is also called “self-undoing,” be careful to make sure what you see is real and solid. Your reach is very far now in potential, so your job is to find a way to manifest it. The Full Moon in your sector of relationships this weekend will spark new connections for you. Get ready, and have your plan mapped out!
