The ninth anniversary of Great Pairings benefiting Lopez Children Center will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, at Lopez Center. This beloved annual event will showcase five 2018 award-winning wines by Lopez Island Vineyard’s winemaker Brent Charnley paired with five food courses created for each wine by five of our favorite local food celebrities.

Great food with great wine, entertainment and surprises are thrown in, making for a fun and flavorful evening. A sampling of courses from prior years include polenta amatriciana, crispy polenta with a sauce of tomatoes, guanciale and pecorino; honey-glazed pork loin with chimichurri sauce; port wine mascarpone cheesecake tart with hazelnut crust topped with chocolate ganache served with raspberry sauce.
