Independence Day Concert: 2 p.m., Edenwild Inn lawn. Funds raised go toward the Lopez School Music Advocacy Foundation’s programs designed to enrich students’ educational experiences through musical presentations and workshops. Tickets: $15 with free entry for students.

Tiempo de Lopez Concert and Dance: 7 p.m., Lopez Center Outdoor Pavilion (corner of Fisherman Bay Road and Village Road North). This San Juan County band brings the heat of the Caribbean Islands to Lopez. This band plays calypso, soca, reggae, mambo, meringue and other beats. Advance tickets: Adult $12, youth $8 at the Lopez Center office and online at www.lopezcenter.com. Tickets at the door: Adult $15, youth $10. Beer and wine for sale; bring your picnic.

Lopez Island Lions Club 31st annual Fourth of July 10K Run/5K Run/5K: Walk, 8:30 a.m., Lopez Center Pavilion. Course starts and ends in Lopez Village, is mildly challenging and has a long, gradual downhill finish. Unique awards are given to the first overall male and female finisher in the 10K and 5K runs. Awards are also given to the first three male and female finishers in each age division in each of the three events. Register July 2 and 3, noon to 4 p.m., Lopez Village Market, or online at www.active.com. Fee: Adults, $20 with T-shirt, $15 without T-shirt; 12 years and younger, $15 with T-shirt, $10 without T-shirt. Race day registration, add $5 to all entry fees. Lopez Island Fourth of July Parade: sponsored by the Lopez Island Lions Club, 9 a.m. registration and 11 a.m. start, ISLA Glass Studio on Fisherman Bay Road. Theme: One If By Land, Two if By Sea. Salmon Barbeque: at Lopez Center following the parade. Sponsored by the Lopez Island Community Fireworks Committee. Volunteers prepare and serve all the assorted accompanying dishes. The Salmon Barbeque is a fund-raiser to support the fireworks display. You can pre-purchase your tickets — as well as commemorative T-shirts and sweatshirts — online at www.lopezfireworks.com or at the Chamber of Commerce office during business hours. 24th annual Lopez Community Fourth of July 2010 Fireworks Display: 10:30 p.m. There will be 15 theme categories; each theme will consist of many different sizes of individual display shells. Two custom-

designed 8-inch golden crossette shells will open the show in honor of Rick King, followed by: Purple Cycas Blooms, Golden Wave to Blue Swimming Chrysanthemum, Revolving Dragons, Glittering Silver to Bright Red Crossing Crossettes, Green Chrysanthemum to Crackling Delay, Red Palm, Golden Silk Chrysanthemum, Red White and Blue with Artillery, Crossing Comets, Red Sunflower, Glittering Silver to Green to Red with Reports, Golden Coconut, Red Cherry Blossom, Nishiki Kamuro Niagra Falls, Grand Finale
