He caught my eye in that crowded place

So sad, and so alone

I invited him for a walk

Curious … intelligent

Quiet … and very aware

Soulful brown eyes … with a hint of blue in one

He made me laugh.

I knew then that I would invite him to my home.

At evenings end he approached my bed with hesitation.

I opened my arms and held him close.

I will care for you and love you for as long as you live

My precious dog.
