A bike-a-thon to call your own

Submitted by the Lopez Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber wants to give Lopezians a chance to ride their own island, explore their own roads, and party on down with good food, live music, a beer garden, artisan craft vendors, and a parade in their very own Village Park! A fun day of compassion, connection, and consciousness, this event is also a fundraiser for the maintenance and winterization of our public restrooms to keep the bathrooms open year-round. Participants can safely bike the island with friends and family and enjoy live music, food trucks, a beer garden, a raffle, and a parade of decorated bicycles. There is fun planned for all ages! Rather than the Tour de Lopez, this event focuses on allowing Lopez residents to learn in greater depth about their special spots, and gather together with one another in a way that the pandemic has prevented for over two years. Participants will celebrate earth week by connecting with other community members and learning more about sustainability, leaving no trace, and being more careful with an island.

There are three levels of registration, each with a Ride the Rock passport and unique custom stickers to collect from each destination reached. Other levels include a stainless steel water bottle and a drawstring backpack for goodies. Optional merchandise includes hoodies, beanies, and more. Children ride free. Registration packets and special orders can be picked up the week of April 25-29 between 10 a.m and 2 p.m. at the Visitor’s Center, 265 Lopez Road, Suite F. Mark your calendars and keep open Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.. Registration is live! https://lopez-island-chamber-of-commerce.square.site/
