We wanted to drop this note to everyone on Lopez to remind you to vote in the upcoming Nov. 3rd election. Also be sure to vote “Yes” on the Lopez Solid Waste Disposal District Prop. 1. The LSWDD needs these funds to keep doing the excellent job of recycling and waste disposal they do. When we have newcomers on the island, we always recommend a stop at the recycle center and the Take It or Leave It. This stop is a clear illustration of the values of our Lopez culture in the way we self-separate our recyclables and how we promote re-use through the TIOLI. The organization does a great job keeping costs down and has been recognized by winning the Washington State Recycler of the Year Award. Please, vote Yes!
