The upcoming levy vote for Lopez School is essential for continuing services we have come to regard as important for our students: the outstanding food program, athletics, support for students with special needs, a part-time school nurse, art and music, drama, even the cost of utilities.

In order for the vote to be validated, over 600 of us must cast ballots. Unfortunately the vote will be in August, a time of year many are focused on travel and having guests. So please be alert to the arrival of your ballot and send it in timely.

Bear in mind that this levy is not a tax increase. It is a continuation of our present levy.

Please vote YES on Aug. 7.
