“Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself” John Dewey, American philosopher and educator. These words ring true for me. I went through public schools with the support of tax payers in the town that I grew up in. I whole heartedly feel that it is now my time to pay it forward for other children. What the Lopez Island School District is asking for in the Maintenance & Operations Levy is help to support and maintain programs that give our teachers and staff what they need to continue to educate, coach, supervise, nourish and enrich the lives of Lopez Island’s youth. Education is freedom. Without knowledge we are a hostage in our own life. Today, please vote yes!
