JEM Jazz Trio plays tonight Jan.7, 7 p.m. at the Lopez Center for Community and the Arts.
JEM Jazz Trio is James Ford (Drums), Ethan Maier (Piano) and Matt Bachmann (Bass). Influenced by Bill Evan’s first trio and the Bad Plus, JEM creates instrumental music that emphasizes the group rather than the individual. The trio formed while studying at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA and have spread their musical passions throughout the Pacific Northwest ever since. The group is excited to share their original compositions at Lopez Center for Community and the Arts.
Matt Bachmann is the new music teacher at Spring Street School and lives on Lopez.
The concert will have cafe style seating similar to the Center’s Community Performance Nights. Come alone or bring a friend. It will be a wonderful evening of Jazz.
