Soroptimists International of Friday Harbor has a yearly award of $4,000 for a woman who is the primary support for her family, who is enrolled in a vocational training or other educational program, and who has financial need. This award can be used for any expenses incurred while receiving her education. Soroptimists provide support in many ways for women and girls in our county and this is part of our program, designed to empower women through education. The deadline for receipt of applications is Nov. 15.
