The Lopez Island Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the theme for the 2026 Fourth of July parade: “Lopez Through Time!” This year’s celebration invites our community to reflect on and celebrate our unique history, traditions, people and moments that have shaped Lopez Island through the decades. With so many anniversaries worth celebrating and new beginnings being launched, we can’t wait to see the creative ways our community brings this theme to life!

We invite individuals, families, organizations, businesses and groups of all kinds to join the fun. Whether you’re building a float, marching with friends, dressing in historical costumes, or creating a vision of Lopez past, present or future. The more, the merrier! And yes, we’ll once again have plenty of award categories, including the beloved award for Best Judges’ Bribe!

We’re thrilled to announce this year’s grand marshal: Debbie Collins. Collins has been the creative genius behind the beautiful luminaries that have illuminated Lopez Island over the past two years, bringing warmth, artistry and community spirit to the island during the darkest months of the year. Her creativity and dedication have touched countless residents and visitors alike, and we are honored to recognize her contributions to our community.

The parade route remains the same: beginning on Fisherman Bay Road just south of Setsunai at the Galley, heading north and then turning left on Lopez Road, winding through the Village, ending near the pharmacy on Lopez Road. Parade registration is free and begins at 9 a.m. on July 4, with the parade kicking off promptly at 11 a.m.

So gather your ideas, dust off your costumes and start imagining your favorite moments from “Lopez Through Time.” We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
