Lopez plays Shoreline to the wire

The Lopez boys played a solid all-around game with four players tallying nine or more points against Shoreline Christian Jan. 25, but the Lobo boys fell just shore in a 64-60 loss.
Co-coach Debbie Buffum said Shoreline Christian is a great team with a bunch of players who can score. The loss puts the Lopez boys at 3-3 in league, in the middle of the Big School Division of Northwest B. the boys also beat Skykomish Friday 51-17 as Jason Buffum nearly pulled off an improbably quadruple-double with 11 assists, 11 rebounds, 11 steals and nine points in half a game.
Against Shoreline, everyone among the starting five contributed big time. Rick Lartz and David Rypinski led the way with 14 points each, while Jason Buffum had 13, Morgan Kashuk had 10, and Che Silkiss-Hero scored nine.
Thats when were a good team ... when everyone scores, said Debbie Buffum.
The Lopez boys have two big games left as they make a push for a postseason berth. They played Grace Academy Tuesday (after press deadline), and they have a road game left in an extremely tough gym at Darrington Feb. 1. The Loggers are on a monstrous roll they have won nine straight, which includes decisive wins over Class A powers Coupeville, Orcas and Friday Harbor. But, the Lobos gave Darrington as hard of a time as anyone has since December in a close home loss a couple of weeks ago.
Against Skykomish, Buffum, Rypinksi and Lartz each led the way with nine points. Debbie Buffum said the whole bench got to play in this game.
