The Board of Trustees of the Lopez Island Library accepted the resignation of the library’s Director Ira Louise Pray on Oct. 9, 2019. This follows the board’s action last month to place Pray on administrative leave as it considered personnel matters and the implementation of changes that would be instrumental in positioning the library for future growth.
The board thanks Pray for her service to the library over the past 13 years. Her knowledge, enthusiasm, and commitment to the library’s mission have played an important role in the growth and success of the library during her tenure.
Over the next few months, the board will be evaluating options for continuing leadership at the library. During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best organizational structure and personnel while still maintaining a stable and effective library that can continue to serve the Lopez Island community.
