The State Patrol bomb squad is at the Lopez Island ferry landing, where undetonated dynamite is believed to have been found embedded in a hole drilled into rock. The dynamite is believed to be a remnant of construction work done in the 1980s.

Washington State Ferries posted this bulletin at 3:33 p.m. today:

Lopez Island Terminal — Closed

All service to and from Lopez Island remains suspended due to non-criminal police activity. Expect delays on other San Juan routes. Updates will occur as conditions change.

Correction: Customer vehicles parked at the Lopez terminal will not be towed.
