A Financial Assistance Fund has been created to enable qualified seniors without sufficient financial resources to apply and enter the Hamlet House, based on space availability. One room will be allocated for residents who may benefit from this new fund. Call the LOHO office at 468-2620 for more information.

A free admission musical evening entitled “A Beautiful Gift: A Celebration of the Senior Hamlet” will feature dancing, desserts, and drinks starting at 6:30 p.m. at Lopez Center on May 29. Proceeds from the silent auction will support this new Financial Assistance Fund. Robert Herrmann will serve as master of ceremonies for the evening hosted by Murray Trelease.

Spring Spruce-Up Day is scheduled for May 22 from 9 to noon. All ages are welcome. Visit with seniors while you clip, weed, trim and rake. Oscar and Alie Smaalders are presenting a program for residents and their guests on May 11 at The Gathers Place. For more information on these two events please contact Gale McCallum at 468-2726.

Nearly 40 people participated in a recent Monday Sing Along at the Hamlet House. The public is welcome to join Maureen Rogers and friends around the piano on the second and fourth Mondays of each month beginning at 3 p.m.
