Winter Book Bingo

Submitted by the Lopez Island Library

Raindrops on windows, a crackling fire and a good book to read. Get ready for your new favorite winter tradition. Beginning on Jan. 1, the Lopez Island Library invites adult and teen readers to expand their reading horizons with the first annual Winter Book Bingo. Pick up a bingo card at the Lopez Island Library or Lopez Bookshop. Fill in the card with titles of books you read from Jan. 1 to March 31. Categories include “Recommended by a friend,” “Washington state author,” and “From the Take It or Leave It.” When you’ve marked an entire row (Bingo) or all 25 squares (Blackout), bring your card to the Lopez Island Library and you’ll be entered into a drawing where you can win fabulous prizes. The grand prize is a $150 gift certificate to Ursa Minor on Lopez Island, which was generously donated by the restaurant. The rules are included on the back of the bingo card.

This program is brought to you by the Friends of the Lopez Island Library, which raises money through book sales and donations. Its support funds many library activities such as author readings, lectures and children’s programs.
