Community Rights San Juan Islands is hosting two community discussion forums about Rights of Nature and Rights of the Salish Sea on Wednesday, Dec. 5. The first, a Q&A, is scheduled for 12:30–1:30 p.m. at the San Juan Public Library, then a “Why & How” will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. at Emmanuel Parish Hall in Eastsound.

Kai Huschke from Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund will give background on the growing movement to recognize legal rights for nature over corporations and profit.

Since the second forum is during dinner time, organizers encourage you bring some snacks and finger foods with you.
