For the first time ever, Radoslav Lorkovic will be performing in the San Juan Islands.

His first stop is Shaw Island on Friday, March 29, at 7 p.m. at the Community building. On Orcas, he’ll be performing Saturday, March 30 at 7 p.m. at the Orcas Grange.

Now living in Chicago, Rad was born in Croatia, but raised in Iowa when his university-professor folks immigrated during the ‘60s. He’s classically trained as a pianist and now performs jazz, blues, folk and Americana as well as his own well-crafted songs. And, he’s a great storyteller — he tours as a ‘sideman’ (with Odetta, Greg Brown, Jimmy LaFave and more) and solo throughout Europe and the United States. He’s been part of the Woody Guthrie Tribute shows, Prairie Home Companion, plays at folk festivals throughout the United States and is currently touring with Shawn Mullins.

Suggested donation at the door is $15-20. RSVPs are helpful. Email houseconcertsandsuch@gmail.com.
