Island Sinfonia to perform at Grace Episcopal

On Sunday, April 14, Island Sinfonia will present their annual spring concert at Grace Episcopal Church at 2 p.m. Admission to the concert is by donation. There will be a reception in the Parish Hall following the concert hosted by Becky Johnson and friends.

This year’s program will feature flautists Linda Slone and Sarah Ogmundson in Telemann’s Quadro, and cellist Jen Utter in Mozart’s Ronda alla Turca. Other pieces include the “March for the Turkish Ceremony” (Lully); “Rosamunde,” second movement (Schubert); Five Instrumental Movements (J.S. Bach), although we are only playing three; and Libertango for Wind Quintet (Piazolla).

Island Sinfonia is comprised of instrumentalists from Lopez, Orcas, Shaw and San Juan islands and is directed by conductor Jim Shaffer-Bauck. Island Sinfonia is always open to any musicians, including students. Please talk to any of the instrumentalists following the concert if you are interested in joining.
