County Department of Emergency Management teaches two earthquake survival classes

San Juan County Department of Emergency Management is hosting a two-day training on both minimizing and evaluating the damage to buildings from earthquakes.

The training is from 8:30 a.m.– 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, and Thursday, April 26, in Friday Harbor. There is no cost to attend.

Training is intended for facility managers, building officials, engineers, architects, contractors, first responders or others who have a professional role in building safety, design or evaluation after an earthquake.

Participants must register in advance to enroll.
